Conspiracy Guy, starring Toronto-based /actor/comedian Rick Wharton, was co- created by Rick and Denis McGrath. McGrath who serves as writer and producer met Rick in their sketch comedy days. Wharton debuted the character in McGrath's hit Summerworks play "American Without Tears" Wharton wanted make short films with the character ala Denis Leary . McGrath had a better idea. Why not bring him to national television and spread the truth. The television audience took notice.... Conspiracy Guy knew too much....... fan letters, emails, wedding proposals and... death threats.  (You gotta love the Canadian television...... )

CONSPIRACY GUY made its debut on SPACE in March 1998. After 120 episodes SPACE had a cult figure on its hands, creating the need for Conspiracy Guy: Behind the Coat, a half hour special to be aired April 8, 2001 explaining the events and circumstances leading up to CG'S paranoid behaviour, and desire to uncover the truth. Will the PTB's or alien forces have him disappear??? LOOK to the skies..... my friends, we live in evil times.
